“Raw, but very classy”, those were the words of jockey Chad Schofield after his mount Rue De Royale (Per Incanto-Urban Royal by Exceed And Excel) stormed home to run second in the 1100m AUS$1million Golden Gift at Rosehill on Saturday.

Bred by LA and Buzz and Susie Williams and bought from Sledmere’s 2023 Inglis Classic Sale draft for $180k by Calvin McEvoy and Belmont Bloodstock, the 2YO colt ran 4th on debut at Moonee Valley on Cox Plate Day in a Listed event.

Rue De Royale is the second foal of his dam Urban Royal. The 9YO daughter of Exceed And Excel has been served by Ardrossan this season,

It was a good weekend for LA graduates of the Classic Sale. The farms top priced lot from the 2022 Sale, Prima Bella (Per Incanto – Brah Spring) made a winning debut at Wyong on Saturday. The Matt Smith trained filly, who cost her Warwick Farm trainer $320k from the Sledmere draft, showed her 3YO rivals a clean pair of heals to lead all the way over 1000m.

The weekends racing caped another successful week for Per Incanto, which included wins in Hong Kong to the LA and Buzz & Susie Williams bred I Give (his fourth in succession) and the Go Racing bred,  A Americ Te Specso, as well as Precious Charm winning at Flemington on Oaks Day.

Per Incanto has five entries catalogued for the NZB Ready To Run Sale which is to be held at Karaka on 22 and 23 November.
